Welcome to Meditation works . . .

In case you haven't been exposed to meditation, let me disavow you of the notion that meditation is some weird exercise of removing oneself from the world. In fact, it is the very benefits of learning to focus, relax and direct your attention where and how you want that make the time spent to learn these skills more valuable than anything you can do for yourself.

In another life this life, I taught Yoga and meditation. I was able to learn and share the skills necessary for developing your life to accomplish anything that you want. By learning to focus your intentions, you will begin to see that everything in life for you is a result of what you focus on.

That is, look around at your life. What isn't working? What is working? Try this. For those things in your life that don't seem to be working, try focusing on what you want rather than on what you have. As long as you continue to focus on where you are (and you're not happy where you are, you can be sure that you will get more of what you have and where you are.

This is not always easy, of course. When you are in pain, that seems to be all that you can feel and see. But through the practice of meditation, you begin to develop a strong focus, an ability to control your thoughts. Not from the negative connotation of "control," but rather from the sense that "you" direct your thoughts, you create your thoughts and as a result, you create your life.

Welcome to the Meditation Works Blog. I hope to enjoy future conversations with you.
